A small group of us
middle age and beyond
gather in the PE building
at the local college hoping
to make life easier and
age a few decades longer.
It's nothing formal or
taxing but more like a
social exchange in a fun
filled friendly sweat hour
of satisfying camaraderie
when we stretch and pull
those strong rubber bands
flexing muscles and limbs
in ways we would never
do at home on our own.
What we get for the buck
is of such high quality
I'm keeping it close since
you wouldn't believe it.
Yea I have only just started working out at the local Y gym and since my heart and diabetes problems and I was truly amazed at the number of seniours there and the friendliness that overwhelmed me.
Go easy there Bill. I got a bad hip muscle from overdoing it myself just a short time ago. No fun at all with the pain I'm in. Never mind not being able to hardly walk.
This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given
day.
Questions, unquestioned discoveries, and answers in parable and rhyme…. This collection records a journey starting with a 1960s retrospective and the first man on the moon, moving to a new millennium welcomed in with a terrorist spin, family crises,
I understand this poem and am keeping it.
Love and peace,
Susan
