Five Early Words

Simple things
bring you back

Like yesterday's
late breakfast

Sausage eggs
toast and jam

You made them
for me alone

Your morning
a lovable stupor

Unwelcome talk
from verbal me

I recall your
whispering -

Just pretend
I'm not here

F William Broome 2008

I agree with Myrna...I can see you at the kitchen table being served breakfast...the smells, the warmth, it was all there.

Cheers,
Dan
