It's old, but like me, it may have something to say.....

Progeny

Knowing from whence we came
Is an assurance given to few
Its value is surely debatable
When little is fact but the name

Our offspring are part of us forever
After natural birth or by adoption
They carry the traits that reflect us
Or they bring something even better

Why expect that something be pure
In the makeup of wonderful children
When what's important to each of us
Is to see ourselves in their mirror

Only total love will allow us to know
When the child becomes the parent
That the folly of the genes and things
Gives proof that all of this is quite so

There are exceptions of course but for the most part we do reap what we sow.. and the mirror of our children is the reflection of ourselves... nicely done, my friend... love, M

Great lines here, Bill. Sometimes a mirror has an uneven surface that reflects a wider heritage.

Very nice message/work Bill. And you said it all with "to see ourselves in their mirror" - for that is too true.

Bill, what beautiful lines these are..."When what's important to each of us Is to see ourselves in their mirror." Just beautiful.
