Audacity, the opposite of shyness.

Audacity

Poets must have audacity, and if not,
there would be less enriching poetry.
Imagine; every writer not sharing the
beauty of new and moving verse to
be enjoyed by appreciative readers.
Thankfully, most good poets are
egotists, as well, needing applause.

A great loss in literature is the work
of talented poets without a need to
share or care about reader's praise.
We dismiss it as shyness, but, admit
knowing of talented poetry creators
who, at death, take never-to-be-read
lines into self contained forevers.

Poets need to develop their own
self-confidence to that of audacity,
and to not do it is self-centered.
A single poem addresses itself to
a specific mind-set, allowing both
author and reader to communicate
effectively within their own kinds.
