Understanding another is not easy
To understand I need to know
I need to know the meaning of
the words used in explaining to me
Contemplating the brain processing
the explaining is almost impossible
while it translates variable words into
understandable phrases of mine
I should indicate explicitly along
the way to show recognition of
what is being explained and said
I turn my cognitive wheels in
the way I need to follow verbal
instructions being spoken to me
Turning my wheels to follow
what is said is a tremendous task
It is a miracle that we humans
have perfected language and
recognition to a cognitive level
Sir Bill, what you have written is so very true. Our language remains english, but it is different from the english I learned or perhaps you learned. I think Karen V said it well, "We must listen, and process to understand one another."
