Anguish swells like a body wound
for they had been forever close and
now determined to tough it out
A renewed love could in time become
parts of them again through
constant mending and strict fidelity
Her trust had been shattered as
broken crystal bits now
scattered within their abyss like
grains of sand in the Sahara
He must gather each granule to
place in a mosaic of trust for
her heart lesion must have time to
heal and rebuild over months
He would restore dependence in
acts of love and binding fidelity
toward her stronger faith in him
His resolve to deserve her
begins with no assurance
only the foundation of forgiveness
This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given
day.
Beautiful piece...
