Reminders of precious children lost
A poet stopped today a man of greatness and whispered in my ear He said that his heart was broke but could not cry a tear Pen was dry as the dust of a desert sand Hoped that I would care and understand Offered my blood as ink My mind as his new pad Sorry he said this poet is dead Watch creativity in the child's bright eyes Watched reality beat him until it dies Heard a friend watch as all his rivers went dry Wondered when it was I started to believe the lie Sad the soul that knows Last drip of life is alone Bought and sold
