The Royal Gatecrasher

A light-hearted look at a recent security breach at Windsor castle.

He wrapped a tea towel round his head
And donned a black false beard
And an orange skirt. It might be said
He looked a little weird.

"It's such a lovely day" he cried
As he began to mince,
"I'll dress as Bin Laden, with pride,
And go to see the prince!"

He got some strange looks on the bus
Which followed the Windsor road
But no-one spoke or made a fuss
Even at the Royal abode,

As he scaled the walls in his flapping gown
Nobody thought it strange,
Or tried to flag (or gun) him down
Though he was well in range.

He kissed Prince William avidly
On both sides of his face
Then set off rather hurriedly
As bouncers then gave chase.

Now heads will roll, and protocol
Precludes a Royal pardon,
No more will interlopers stroll
Posing as O. Bin Laden.

[Note: I wanted to add an extra stanza somewhere but could not find anything polite to rhyme with Blunkett]

Hah, hah, hah, hah, hah!

Though he was well in range.

He kissed Prince William avidly
On both sides of his face

I'd KISS Prince William too (and more than just that, if I had half a chance!)

You ARE a naughty (but really WITH IT) girl, Sara!

FABulously funny!

P.S. I note that someone else here called him "that comic terrorist".... prob is, how can anyone who is a COMIC be a terrorist?

... unless of course comedy is now ALSO classified as terrorism.

Beats me.

:) :) :)

But then again, I am only Canadian...

Beat me to it you little tinker.
This made me laugh a lot Sara but as you know I love poetry as satirical social comment.

hmmmmmmm you do have a bit of a prob with blunkett LOL

i heard about this nut...calls himself the comedy terrorist or something like that--maybe because his comedy is so awful that he has to act in an extreme manner to get attention

poor prince william--least that's all the terrorist did...could have been worse

(((HUGS))) and thanks for the clever write about this incident...your poem is funnier than that comic terrorist will EVER be

love,

karla. :)
