My anger got the best of me,
Now I’m bound, no longer free,
Because my anger, got the best of me,
James said he loved me, said he’d never leave,
And every word he said like a sucker, I believed,
Little did I know, I was being deceived,
He wined me, he dined me, he took me out,
He showed me in every way what his love was all about,
He bought me fancy things, he made me feel brand new,
But all the things he did for me were lies left untrue ,
He never came home at night to the new home he’d just bought me,
Guess I failed to realize that I had been bought see,
Until the eve that he told me,
He could no longer hold me,
He would no longer love me,
For there was another above me,
In a panic,
I reached and grabbed it,
So upset,
I wasn’t having it,
He had promised me love, forever true ,
A life without him would never do,
So I pierced his heart through and through,
Just so he could feel my pain through and through,
But now I sit in a pen,
Writing with my pen,
Dipping back and forth in the black ink I pinned,
Wishing way back then,
That I could re-visit this scene and do it all again,
But atlas, I shall not win,
For in my anger, I did sin,
And now I’m lost, bound by pages within,
Because my anger led to sin.
Be Blessed
