I have walked those dreadful walks,
When the sky fell away into the deep
I have drawn a curtain between myself,
And the weary blood stained world of lies
I have asked myself those difficult questions
As the rain pelted the earth - I felt alone
Within the boundaries of my mortal existence,
I pondered the inconstancy of a lover's wiles
And when I looked at my feet I saw a snake,
It was writhing and it hissed and stared
Into the oblique silence of the night,
Where I walked as a wraith to the coming dawn

Ron,
My friend, though we have all suffered loss and tragedy, there are none who have suffered more in our country in this last year than our brothers and sisters in New York. That's what this poem makes me think of. (((HUGS))) Janet xoxoxo
