Tee Hee! :)))

PLAYTIME!

Bergs don't really float my boat,
I have to freely say;
I'm awed by their ice majesty -
but would really rather play!

Give me a ball and let's play catch:
a verse, a rhyme or two.
My laughing chatter just babbles along -
which you know if I write to you!

College tasks are my big hoops,
but I'd prefer to jump the waves -
swimming along in the School of AD
with all of my hot writing faves.

I'm just a smiling dolphin, folks:
can you see me thwack my tail?
Now surf is up, the mist is gone -
slip anchor, let's set sail!

There's depths to plumb and truth to find
and thoughts to tease and wiggle;
And through it all discovery's made:
Life's just a cosmic giggle!

Dear Dolphin Kate,

I think you do have characteristics of a dolphin (one of my favourite mammals) but you are so much more. There are so many facets to your nature (as reflected in your writing) and I love this playful side.
I am enjoying reading your work and hope you don't mind me cluttering up your board with my comments.
Love Chanti

"Playtime!" plays its way through its mellifluous lines. A true poem to enrich the spirit and to nourish the mind.

Kate,

You are sooooo, soooooo right. All work and no poetry makes a dull poet. :) So git on out there and have fun, fun, fun!!!!

I absolutlely adore this one--especially imagining you as a lithe limber dolphin--somehow, that fits you :)

I don't think Nemo spoke in such lyrical fun.
Kate this is exuberant and delightful.

Very cute and fun write, Kate. Always nice to find a playful piece mixed among the deep and heart wrenching. Thank you for the carefree moment with my coffee this morning.
