Sorry about this on-going dolour, People... but c'est la vie, I guess... or rather, la mort. I'm off to a Venezuelan beach for a couple of weeks come Thursday, Deo volente, so maybe that will give me a rather different canvas to work on for a bit. Keep smiling! :)) LOL K xx
FAITHFUL
Now I am Judas;
for thirty silvered pieces
I will let you go,
not know you,
hand you over to the company of heaven
as you turn your face to the wall
saying “remember me; remember me”,
your cup drunk to the dregs.
I am not thief that I should gamble
at this scene for your clothes,
but I betray you with a clinging kiss
clutching at your storm-tossed brow,
stroking your angel-silvered hair.
Your Gethsemane is barred to me
and I leave you at its gates;
but I am still your daughter
and God has yet to prove your friend
as you plead “Lord, have mercy!”
Keep the faith, Kate, as you need to be a tower of strength in the coming days and weeks, etc. That venezuelan sunshine should give you a kick and boost, lucky you. Sorry, I ran out of credit on phone. They charge you for taking calls when abroad, but good to hear the latest. All the best! k
Oh, Kate, this is powerful and I can totally relate to all of it. Such pain in our lives right now! I am so happy for you that you're taking a trip to the beach. Sounds marvelous. Be safe. xxxooo Janet
Very intensive write here Sweet Kate and not sure the full meaning of it but I doubt whether you could ever in a thousand years be a Judas type, it just isn't in your nature. The poem however is wonderful and the comparisons and imagery is fantastic. Hope you have a good time on your vacation and wish I were going there, anyway I am off to Newfoundland for an extended weekend next
thursday...almost as good. Take care and use lots of sunscreen.
what a poem, Kate... the undertones are incredible and you manage to make me feel both the mother/Lord figure and the "Judas"/child. wonderful writing. on a different note, I cannot wait to see what poetry comes from time on a Venezualan beach, though I fully expect you to rest and savor the moments, not sweat out more poetry. live large, Dawn
Live for present-moment fulfillment, Kate. Bring back some treasure for your own expectations. Happy tides, Sweet Kate! Raise a bumper and imbibe for me!
Have a wonderful vacation, Kate, you really do deserve it. You have had a difficult time over the last several months and I am sure your well of strenght has come close to running dry. I hope you find refreshment, peace and warm lovely days on the beaches of Venezuela; you and hubby deserve some R & R together. I will keep you in my prayers, Kate.
Hope you have fun on your vacation! Stay safe; you are in my prayers! We'll keep the den warm for you until you get back! :) We will be waiting for your return!
(((HUGS))) and much love (and prayers), your friend in America, Karen Lynn in Texas. :D
With all blessings one can muster, I wish for you the peace and rest you so faithfully deserve. There are times when death is a friend, although seldom recognize for the inevitable role it plays. Your friends do care... and understand. - Bill
My nickname for my dearly beloved Mum was " Old Faitful " Kate, and this certainly reminded me of her cherubic face up in heaven along with my dearly beloved Dad !
We must remain faithful until the end, for we will be given a crown of life as a final reward.
Have a super time in Venezuela, and watch out for that President, he is rabid anti American...:)
Hope and pray your Mum's memoirs are progressing steadily

This is heartbreaking poetry at its best. You want to leave, but fear what you'll find on your return. Powerfully expressed, one of your best...and you do a lot of bests. You shine.
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
May I go with you to that beach??? Have a good time, get plenty of rest, and you'll hopefully come back renewed and restored.
Daddy did great, supposed to be discharged from hospital today--one day after surgery! Thanks for the many prayers on his behalf. You and Mum still in mine.
