Trying eternity on for size,
seeking the perfect fit,
an haute couture designer heaven
instead of an off-the-peg religion
guaranteeing a trendy brand of bliss,
or a hand-me-down, hellish future.
Looking for that personal place,
a space to squeeze lungs, heart –
all our on-going energies – into.
Testing clouds for comfort
and commodious kimonos
of nirvana for style, we are
all the time wondering:
Oh, dear, dear Kate... "I really am beginning to think that you and I have some psychic hook-up, Alexandra..." (you wrote) - and I'm beginning to think that, most definitely, we do, LOL! I know it may be hard to believe, but I've been having "strange" thoughts about... "wearing time like a suit". Such thoughts have not quite written themselves as a poem, though - I've merely jotted a few notes down - at least, not yet. But... I promise to try and "sew" them properly, if you promise to write your liquid one - the one you referred to in your review to my poem "Sideways". Meanwhile, I'll go on reading and re-reading this absolutely extraordinary Haute-Poetry-Couture... until I drop. Of the most genuine pleasure there can be - greater than the one of looking at an exquisite "Valentino"! And, by the way... I love the people I've met her too. they have been wonderful to me through a trying time. And they feel like family. I'm glad too.
