... this has definitely been inspired by John Flanagan's BRILLIANT, sharp and energising little number: old man and heat. Thanks, John ;) And Happy Poetry Day, People... well, it is over here! xx

YOLANDA CONSIDERS those...

FAT WORDS SLIM

In verticals of shadow-wearing light and

stomach-flattening Spandex innuendo,

they hold themselves in with no-no-nos of denial,

retentive shrugs and shirt-tucking asides…

Just smile a fat smile and rest taut-toned thoughts

lightly on your wishbone frame, wasting nothing.

Let gates of sleek hips swing wide and well-oiled

as you pass lightly by, shedding pounds with

a withering yeah, right…

Desire’s a skin that is scrotally seized and

no tightly-tied tongue can truss or conceal

its loose-hanging folds of excess.

Kate my dear one, you have penned quite a poem...I agree with Jude, it leaves me speechless. A very fine well oiled poem filled with suggestive mind boggling thoughts leading to the last stanza that totally sums up what you were thinking....

Well done, my sweet friend,
Peace, love and light,
Amber

Kate, I'm rapt with your humor that sets new bounds for resourcefulness --nothing testy going on here! -- "Spandex Innuendo" is so..so perfect -- you've elasticized the human psyche to expand beyond the joy "no-no-nos denial" -- where have you been hiding this marvelous humor? -- I bid you love and peace my dear friend -- Jon Michael

Everyone else has said it before me: that last stanza is marvelous, with its folds, layers, sensuous reality! The whole piece is a beautiful invitation to indulge and keep smiling. I read this one with great pleasure!

Dear Yolanda,
Is that a yes or a no?

Thank you, Great Kate, for the rich compliment
and for the fabulous poem you've just shared with us.
Glad to give you a 'nudge' (wink, wink) anytime
especially if it produces work of this quality..
nothing circumcised i mean circumscribed about that
final stanza!

That last verse is so awesome that it could stand on the page alone as a masterpiece.;
'Desire’s a skin that is scrotally seized and
no tightly-tied tongue can truss or conceal
its loose-hanging folds of excess.'

WOW...I WISH I'D WRITTEN THAT!
Best wishes to you and yours
from
Kay

of excess"--i love it! ;-)
witty and wonderful, dear poetess,
wishing you peace & blessings always,
