observations on getting old
You go to a room And don't know why You try to think And gently sigh You're getting old! All seems going to hell Prices up, quality down. At all things new You fret and frown You're getting old! You solemnly pontificate Very often grimly say To the younger ones "See! In my day." You're getting old! Wizened head you shake Simply can't believe The world has changed And heavy sighs heave You're getting old! When people call you 'Pop', 'Mister' or 'Sir' And hold doors open You can surely infer You're getting old! All things in life Last just a while Relax and let go Enigmatically smile 1 You'll never get old! ��

Part of being old is to accept change without having to chase after it. Once you do that, things become a lot easier to accomplish as our brains gradually lose the flexible power they once had when it came to facing the day's challenges.
