" You must cut your cloth, to suit your coat "

........................................................................

So many corridors beckon me,

Numerous paths I could choose

Mazes and labyrinths bewilder me

Which one will I take,

What one will lead me home

All is confusion and strife,

And I haven't a clue

How do I solve this problem,

That vexes me so

One road leads me this way,

Another takes me there

How can I get consistency

My decision making is all at sea

How can I help you my dearest friend

When I can't even help myself

Who do I turn to,

When there is no one left in view

Life is surely an enigma

Shrouded in complete mystery

No one really cares

Is the bottom line I'm know

Too busy looking out for number one

They don't even see me here

Then out of the blue

I heard a voice inside whisper

Stop and listen to my discourse

I've got some smart advice for you

Here me out from first to last

I am your guardian angel,

Assigned to you from birth

Your troubles started

The moment you closed your ears to me

Thought you knew it all

And schemed yourself away

Followed the dictates

Of every passing whim

And sold your birthrights

For another swig of gin

Money became your God

And power made you drunk

You thought you could have your cake

And eat it just as well

Well let me tell you something

You obviously didn't know

Everything comes with a price tag

As above, as below

So jump off the bandwagon

Quit the roundabout of ego

And remember just who you are

Step back out of the limelight

And find your natural stride again

Put away all residual immaturity

And grasp the nettle of reality

You will find to your surprise

That is where it is all at

Very good read and all so true - There are only two paths in life - The narror and the wide - The narror leads to eternal life and the wide to eternal death

Do I know the feeling!! Thanks for posting this creative and
thought-provoking write. Were I not caught in a maze of my own,
I would probably have some advice. So many times I have wondered,
What would have happened if I had turned left instead of right?
Taken a detour, or not? Guess everyone does. Good show!! 'Pea' <3

To insure one against crushing defeat and black despair, step out of ego's limelight and into the golden light of the labyrinth where there is only one way in and one way out. It takes patience and many tries to find one's way. One can do this by connecting unselfishly with others in an unfailing spiritual power source. Great mind-adjuster, Peter!

We should all thank God for Guardian Angels, Peter, and we should all listen when they whisper in our ears.
