I decided on a grand finale...after Eileen Tiger Lily exhorted me to do so !...Lols

......................................................................................

There they go

mister right and miss perfect

they seem so happy together

her with her mink coat

and he with his tuxedo

glitter and limelight, wherever they go

the flashbulbs pop, and the bubbly corks

and the paparazzi are never far behind

but behind the facade

the wallpaper is crumbling

and the crystal chandeliers

are covered in dust

their life is a sham

each day is a charade

so to fool the world

they wear their masks with pride

inside she is barren,

and needs her daily fix

a childless union

and a loveless marriage

so she's just going through

the motions and the rehearsed steps

pretense

is the name of the game they play

her husband is unfaithful

and committing adultery

with a string of bimbo babes

so she gets him back at him

by keeping a toy boy lover

all is vanity,

and everything is image

the fake tan

and the painted nails

dyed hair and liposuction

they hope to remain young forever

she dozen't know where to turn

her head's in a spin

and he couldn't care less

because he is mightily impressed

with everything to do with himself

puffed up and preened

because he is a mega household name

money is their God

it buys them power

and a mansion in Beverly Hills

a private jet is fuelled and ready

to whisk them to St Tropez

to walk along millionaire's row

and for a thrilling diversion

they ski in the Italian Alps

to rub shoulders

with the yuppie in crowd

and when they get bored

they sail off in their prestigious yacht

to their summer chalet in Malibu

but beneath the veneer

they are coming apart

and each day gets harder to play

snorting cocaine

to keep up with the pace

uppers and downers

they swallow with haste

so you see my friend

read between the lines

and take heed

and warning from me

don't sacrifice your integrity

for fame and fortune

stick to what you know best

by being honest and true

in everything you do

and make do with what you got

and you won't end up

like that artificial pair

on the fast  track

to that road to hell

This work is described as the cultivation of sensibility and the delicacy of feeling, which brings about concurrently the freeing of materialism. So many lines here, that in their end result, give pangs of a bad conscience and a sense of failure, and contributes greatly to one's downfall. One has to be true to themselves. Too many people out there are posturing, posing to be what they're not and far too many people's egos are writing checks their body can't cash. Big insight in this one, Peter.

Peter,

Spot on, spot on, spot ON!!!!!!! In this artificial world, it's nice to see reality...the real stuff, not that crap on TV. You've nailed it. Excellent!

Wow! You really nailed this one Peter! Our culture is rife with all you have written about and those who idolize the stars and money moguls, seeking the same life our Ads and media have so glamourized, are in for a rude awakening! Great work!

Sex, power and greed is what every media screams...who listens? Everyone. It's sad to know the larger percentage of this world can be bought...or sold...so superficially.

Great description here Peter.

The fast track - on the road to hell. Your series indicts our modern society on many levels, Peter. Food for thought, indeed.

It is easier for a camel to enter the eye of the needle than for a rich man to enter heaven... True in many cases. Wise write Peter.
