" Have a vision not clouded by fear. "
- Cherokee Proverb
---------------------------------------------------------------

The Shaman returned

in vaporising silohuette

the power of his mind

delivering his communications

you have earned the right

to sojourn in the spellbinding light

transmitting from afar

core truths not known to man

this is the time of your initiation

that seperates the self soul

from your mortal coil

he struck the ground

with his alabaster rod

uttering ancient syllables

in his native tribal tongue

to join with the divine

we must be burnished in flames

a sacred fire materialized

an all consuming conflagration

as we passed over in humble silence

via an octagonal portal

travelling beyond

rotating spheres and veils

back to the dawn of origin

the medicine man's face shifted

in the wink of an eye

to a familiar visage

that I had once known

as he enlightened me more

what one person believes

another one detests

duality is an illusion

from the cradle to the grave

we entered a fertile dimension

of sheer translucent majesty

one that can't be spoken of

only experienced and felt

my spirit guide said

all is relevant

from the winnowing breeze

to the tear in the dove's eye

I became immediately aware

in a flash of searing intuition

all Great Spirit's gifts

have been distorted by the Dark

my molecules were altering

dissolving into nothingness

no longer was I cognitive

of any shape or form

all fear had vanished

ignorance was dispelled

and vanity was finally exposed

as the sin of mankind

the wise man ventured

with a gleam in his eye

everyone's truth

is a version of a new lie

I perceived with my senses

a vast vista unknown

unutterable joy

enveloped my heart

as the sacred souls

I had known and loved

drifted back into view

radial love

transmitted from the Source

with the unspeakable sound

of a cicada dawn

the medicine man spoke

in solemn sombre tone

he who breaks the chain of life

cannot journey this way

I no longer sensed

the gravity of the ground

and as my thoughts arose

the objects miraculously formed

the shaman concluded

in ceremonial directive

that what you have seen transpire

will be erased from your mind

to be encrypted

in pictures and symbols

for the faithful aspirant

to follow where you go

as every child of the universe

must find its own way to God

Shamanism has relevance in our culture to present bare bones to the people to teach how to integrate these things into our lives. The involvement of the new movements in ecological matters has coincided with indigenous peoples' own demands to re-establish ancient relationships with their lands. In 1990, oil companies proposed to drill in caribou calving grounds. They were confronted by the Gwich'in people of Alaska and the Yukon. One of the speakers said, "Our people have lived with that herd for over 30,000 years. We have always been here. We cannot let that happen." Spirit guides are reality and I encourage those who will, to use mimed encounters with power animals and mythic personages. The picture tells the Soliloquy with a Shaman, The Conclusion. This has been a very upscale and enlightening series, Peter. I enjoyed each part.

A wonderful conclusion. < <As every child of the universe must find its own way to God>> And sometimes, some of them need a little help, a good guide. You have guided us well with your Shaman poems.

To find the path to the inner god-image (Genisis) is truly to find the passion of life. To know He is LOVE, LIGHT, and LOVE removes the burdens of past failures, intiates our souls visions of conquest and investes the very best qualities of life for us to display with honor.

I take this time to encourage your readers to read this fascinating triology of understanding concerning the Nature of All That Is and all that can be if only we would open our lives to wisdom, understanding and responsibility for our lives.

Thank you my friend. So much to learn, so little time :)

Outstanding prose; Peter. The journey of man unfolding…reminded me a little of Dante’s journey with Virgil. However I see the crux being lain in the following line.

“vanity was finally exposed as the sin of mankind”

Excellent piece.

I loved and grew with a sahman of wisdom. He taught us of harmony with man and peace to all things living and respect for yourself first or you couldn't give it to others. He taught to replace a worm with a feather or a flower to give back what we used from earth and he was the teacher of how to talk to the animals. His kind heart bred eight of is who are out here that do the same with our children. The circle is growing. Life has a chance as long as more people learn to harmonize with those around thwm.
Peter your message is a huge part of this circle.

Truly one of our worst sins, Peter. I truly enjoyed your wondrous wisdom-filled Shaman series, and that is one awesome graphic!

Personally I think this poem has so much inner wisdom that it takes more than one, even two readings. You reached down deep within to deliver these two poems to us, especially this one.

The intricate matter of life that is caught in matter only in this plane of bitterness, reflected in a shaman's ritual and consideration. I believe your conclusion to be correct; we lack the wit to be able to understand the ways of the Light, but it is what we must strive for in life.
