But let there be spaces in your togetherness and let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Kahlil Gibran
.....................................................................................................
The warrior cleans his trusted sword with professional diligence
he knows his life depends on its sharpness
you are only as good as your last result in life
and time has a magical way of dimming the pain
as the sun bleaches his hair golden brown
his tanned skin a reflection of where he has been
he has lost many comrades along the way
the enemy and fate has had a field day
but still this ubeatable champion is stoicly unbowed
neither age nor discouragement gets in his way
everyone he has loved all along the way
and he always has found time to rest and play
when he is in love, he is at his consummate best
cutting and hacking, the trail that he must blaze
so he mounts up his steed once again
and parts the fallen ivy that has strewn his way
his visage is strong and his demeanour austere
a desert nomad that roams the vast rolling plains
who is aware the foe subtlely changes itself
both within and without
and the biggest battle is with oneself
so he leaves behind a trail for you to find
where you can follow to capture his heart

Love Tinka
Perhaps the best poem from you yet. You capture the reader into the story with the first line and make it unable for them to not read until the end. Fantastic!

Kahlil Gabran was one of the wisest men I've read. I'm happy that we share the same prophet's verses.
