Poem Artwork

Everything you see has its roots in the unseen world. The forms may change, yet the essence remains the same. Every wonderful sight will vanish; every sweet word will fade, But do not be disheartened, The source they come from is eternal, growing, Branching out, giving new life and new joy. Why do you weep? The source is within you And this whole world is springing up from it.

- Jelauddin Rumi -

......................................................................................................

Standing on the jetty, looking out across the placid still pond

watching all the spontaneous movement that caught my eye

moorhens and coots feeding contentedly amongst the iris and rushes

listening closely to the promptings of my inner self

understanding that timing is of extreme importance in life

as you should only act, when your heart dictates the terms

with the caveat, that only good can spring from the well of honesty

a flock of pigeons came flighting across my view

and in the background, a mute swan was tending her brood

underneath the pendulous branches of a weeping ash

I remained serene and tranquil, as I thought of you

transferring my love and feelings on our own special wavelength

and was strengthened as I received your supernatural replies

brilliant yellow berberis, and immaculate white philadelphus splashed the vista

while the dancing sunlight dappled and prismed the water crests

as the enchanting cadence of your words overflowed in my soul

and I know you are an angel, who has crossed the great divide for me

to bring me everlasting love and happiness in bountiful supply

and as I reflected on the wonderful surges within my core

I realised in full measure

that you are the sun, that will never die

Whomever the enchantress muse who inspired this, she has opened your heart and pen with the most elegant and ethereal poetry...such a blend of her whispers in the wavelength of the wind entwined with your eternal joy of the blossoms, colors, birds, and creatures nestled within. There are lessons to be learned as well in the timing and dictates of your heart.

This the complete love poem written as if you are allowing us to peek inside the most private confines your mind and soul. Could there be words of love more perfect than these? This was made to be read aloud to her...reiterating precious thoughts I am certain you have shared before...but do it again, refresh her memory with these utterly romantic words...they can never be said enough.

"and as I reflected on the wonderful surges within my core

I realised in full measure

that you are the sun, that will never die"

We are blessed to be within the circumference of your heart, Peter...you incurable romantic you!

ONE ENORMOUS WOW!

You are an insightful and unique man dear Sir Peter. I must agree with dear Susan below, I feel as if you live next door.

Your ability to create an environment and draw your readers into it with only words is . . . shall I say . . . ummmmmmm . . . well . . . let's see . . . OK . . . I know that I've used this before, but, forgive me . . . how about splendiferous!

I agree . . . timing is of the utmost in life! Sometimes there is only one chance to accomplish what must be done. And the ramifications of that are staggering!

Some people do have that special wavelength don't they? It's an amazing thing too!

I do admire those things that will never die!

Salutations dear Poet and friend! You are a blessing to me!

Amazing!!
What is the amazing part is you are there, half a world away but you pen your environment and love for your world and you describe the birds and flowers and marshes and here I am describing the same..creatures and birds and flowers...and there's not much difference in what I see and feel here. I love this world...your world...we are all so very connected although we aren't present in one another's eyes.
Isn't it all beautiful and amazing how our Creator charmed our worlds the same but with a difference in some minute way, to make it all interesting!!!
Love and peace,
Susan
