Baby Boomers are taking us broke,
So politicians claim and that's a joke,
See Boomers were all born,
At the end of the big war,
So in the mid-1940's,
Baby births did soar,
Now at 62, they'll all file together,
And put the government into a dither,
The Social Security system will surely crash,
By 2020, we'll be out of cash,
However, the Boomer's are not,
To be shunned,
For taking a large chunk,
Out of the fund,
Political sins of the past,
Caused it all,
Constant dipping into the pot,
And poor planning has taken its toll.
By the time I get to retirement age, first of all, I'll be 90 the way it keeps going up, and then they'll be no money to retire with (that's if I haven't died first). Scary to contemplate. Excellent write, Dana.
