More than 40% of all teenagers in the U.S. solicit "friends" via their own websites on hosts like myspace, etc. That percentage is growing at an alarming rate. The risks are obvious but how will this further impact society as a whole??

Face to face interaction is so very important to keep our society in direct eye contact. When you cannot see a person's eyes, it is hard to read their heart and mind. Most young boys and girls in modern-day society do not know how to bait a fish hook. And we are losing the art of storytelling because of computers. Sitting around a campfire and sharing the ancestors stories preserves a generation. We are also losing many written languages...the elders are dying and the young generation do not want to learn. When an old person dies, a whole library of knowledge disappears if it is not passed on. A thought-provoking piece Edwin.

Hey have you ever touched on the reality of online friendships leading to relationships. Though you are right some may never meet, some may meet and be a disastor, but hey...there is that small percentage that meet someone special and make a life together. A life that they had only imagined before.
