Peggy’s Cove, Where God Once Laid His Hand
The lightning flashed and the thunder crashed
The waves beat the ocean foam upon the rock
The screams echoed off shore lost forever more
Like the dreams lost there off that barren shore
Bodies like broken deck boards adrift on the sea
Folks on the shore stood helpless praying
To the God who guides the souls of the lost
As the wicked North wind bit deep like night time frost
Then a feeble cry in the darkness on the edge of stone
A girl child crying for her mother lost and so alone
A miracle survivor God presented to the ladies arms
They called her Margaret, little Peggy of the cove
To this day this scenic bay of lighthouse, pounding surf and rock
Where tourists visit, fishermen fish, artists and poets rove
A place of beauty unsurpassed, where God once laid a hand
Is one more of his reminders, this place called Peggy’s Cove

Surely she must have had a purpose as the only survivor. I've never been to Novia Scotia. Do you have a pic of Peggy's Cove? I sound like a four year old, don't I? Oops, another question, lol. Chilling write. Enjoyed...

I've never heard the tale, but you convey it so strongly in verse and imagery, one will never forget once they've heard it. Well done, my friend, well done.
