Poem Artwork

Smoking Gun

Ten shades of surprize

Framing the land

He looks out the window

But he don’t understand

Why the wind blows cold

Why the sun will not shine

Thought this house and a kiss

Were sweet music and wine

Ten shades of regret

All the colours of blue

Love just wasn’t enough

To keep her with you

She craved the bright lights

Not a wood fire and TV

Too long spent regretting

She couldn’t be free

Ten shades of sadness

For the love she forgot

He curses the heavens

For what he was not

He picks up the phone

He dials nine one one

Then ten shades of grief

Greet his smoking old gun

Wow. The ending to this sad tale was like getting smacked in the head by a semi. Great writing is made of the unexpected jolt. You are wonderful at that!

My Fee --

Your ten shades of emotion are so inviting to the sadness of this story. Sad story, and sadder still and frightening the end. Beautifully written and developed.

This is a powerful, yet sad write. Love will eventually be the one thing that will kill us all one day of a broken heart.

I'd take the wood fire any day! :) But woe to those that can't find anew, and to think there's only one fish in the sea...by ending it all in deep shades of blue, "Smoking Gun"
Excellent write!
Love and Peace~

A good write, sad though for "he curses the heavens for what he has not" I always look for what I have and I am grateful for what I would have left afterwards. My sanity and my life back. Lady J

Powerful reflection upon an emotional mismatch. They say the balance of power in love, needs and relationships constantly shifts and changes...how sad that their inability to find compromise brought about their demise. Great imagery Fee. Hugs Panda :)
