Oh Mom I'm On My Way

Lately my Mom has been on my mind a lot, perhaps it is because we near Mother's Day, perhaps because of some increased heart pain, perhaps just because I miss her even after almost three decades. Anyway this one is dedicated to my mother "Edna Florence Perry (Dobbin)...

Oh Mom

Oh Mom, you池e on my mind a lot more lately

I remember when last I held your hand

Oh Mom, I feel my time soon approaching

To rejoin you and Dad in that other land

Oh Mom, you値l be waiting for me when I get there

Looking out for me as if I were still a child

Oh Mom, I feel my heartbeat growing weaker

I知 paying for the years when I ran wild

Oh Mom, tell brothers Jim and Bill I知 coming

Tell them deal a hand of cards out for me

Oh Mom, I so long to feel your arms embrace me

When from these earthly bounds I知 finally free

Oh Mom, I feel my eyes are growing dimmer

Perhaps shaded for the bright light ahead

Oh Mom, I僧 just a little afraid of dying

I say goodbye to the ones I love around my bed

Oh Mom, now I値l take the hand you hold out

To help me find my way out of this dreary night

Oh Mom, what a feeling of contentment

As you lead me from the darkness to the light

Dad, this is so touching, I can almost see them all once more sitting at a table, playing cards and waiting for you to walk through the door, when your gone someday...a long time from now....i'll have the reassurance that you are indeed in the best company possible and one day you'll have a seat next to you...for me...saved right?

Thanks bro.

Time passes too quickly and we will be with them again soon enough.

Cherish and spend as much time as we can with the loved ones we have here in this world. That's why I been trying to get home each year if I can.

The ones we have lost will be waiting.

Love ya bro,

John

A sad write, but the love and devotion to your mother is quiet clear. In time, to be together again in the after life, yet leaving so much behind. Interesting!

Be safe,
Karen

All walk a thin line between life and death and it strikes when we least expect it. No doubt people with severe health problems may see their stay here shortened but God can surprize us and keep us until we fulfil what we were destined to do on this earth. Mom won't mind waiting for you.

I think you mom must be smiling at you right now, Fee. My mom "chose" to leave this place before her time. So you see; your words pack a punch with me. Love and peace,

Regis

This is sad but filled with hope. My own mother has been gone for about the same length of time and I miss her as much today as I did that first awful day when she passed. We were very close and the hopes of seeing her and being with her someday once more I find comforting. As you know Fee there's no love like that of a mother.
Hugs,
Marcia

It is comforting to know that our loved ones will be theret o greet us and I think for me I can wish I've taught my children well that instead of the end it's my beginning again. My grand children haven't learned this yet for I'm not around them enough. Yet, it does make me wonder if I lived closer to them they would learn and make my passing easier for them. Lady J

I love this! As the mother of two sons, it's my daughter who stays in touch, but I'm told sons never forget their moms. This is a nice tribute, and a wonderful reassurance to this mom!

An awesome tribute to your Mom, Fee. Nothing is like the love of a mother, the one person that is always there for you. I get to see my Mom a few times a week because we live so close.

No matter where our Mom's are, they are always by our side. Beautiful poem in honor of all those Mom's that have past on.

~hugs~
