Marble Lies

Marble Lies

I stand at the head

of the marble inbred

as they offer their souls

to the night

 and I cover my eyes

not to hear their passionate sighs

we must keep our weak lusts

out of her sight

 

but their smiles are so sweet

float me off my feet

as passion is stirred

loins are afire

and naked two glow

like no two I know

their tempting smiles

breeding equal desire

 

 

I must shield my mind

to words moral unkind

remember my fall

from the throne  

now go quick if you must

mere words I can’t trust

as I lay me down

humbly sated alone…

Wow! You don't even need the picture, your use of imagery is so vivid, one forms a picture of this tale of passion that's very clear!

Love this poem, with realism imagery from those times!

Wow, well nicely said. I am soooo glad to hear that you are back in the saddle controlling the reigns once again. I missed reading your work. Its funny how we sometimes are in the exact train of thought! I have been busy closing a house deal. We are building our dream home near downtown on the water! I am absolutely swamped with picking out colors and flooring. I will be off and on periodically - but will try to review as many as I can.
