Dark thoughts at time tend to invade, often it is good to release them...

Poem Artwork

The Edge Of Insanity

I know what shall and shall not be

In quagmire fogs of my reality

I walk the tunnels to search for me

On the very edge of my insanity

While in the painted light of day

Velcro on my smile of obscurity

As I store my black mood away

To offer all sweet vain sincerity

If true only the fittest will survive

Time shrivels with no clemency

My soul perhaps they’ll not revive

If I refuse spiritual dependency

So now I’ll lay me down to sleep

Knowing what shall be shall be

No light to pierce shadows deep

Entrenched I fall into insanity…

I love the wording in line 6, Fee - we all have that happy mask we wear so no one can see the frown beneath. Dark but realistic! Well done:)

WE all walk those borders and we, sometime, get closer than we even imagine. With the shingles, there are times I concentrat so much on dreaming just to keep the pain away and then....I want to stay in dreams rather than reach back into reality and the pain.
Blessings and love,
Susan

Having seen those same fogs myself once in a while, I'm glad you're still sane enough to write about it so scrupulously.
Maybe, someday, I'll see you on the other side...

Good writing.

Dark write. Many have been to this dark place as well. For if there was no dark, there would not be approaching light.

Fee, you should put the dark thoutghts in a black box and throw it on a little room without light, preferably the home of a black cat that isn't there anyway.
The edge of insanity is when we descend those stone steps down to the dungeon expecting to find an angel to console our sadness.

Georg
