Tissues Two by Two

Her sparkling teardrops soaked the tissues

That I quietly passed her two by two

As I held her in my two strong arms

Not knowing what else I could do

He broke her heart and walked away

Not even giving her a reason why

Now her little heart is sadly breaking

And God knows, I hate to see her cry

 I hold her tiny trembling body tight

As another memory of love returned

I gently pat her back and whisper

He’ll pay someday for your love scorned

Another two tissue from the box I hold

But this time I gently wipe the tears away

I wonder if she knows I’m even here

That there’s so much more I’d like to say

I gently kiss her forehead and her cheek

As she looks at me with a forced smile

Just like she’s done in past so often

And I know she’ll forget him in a while

I’ve seen it happen so many times before

I’ve passed her hugs and tissues two by two

Trying to re-ignite her little broken heart

It seems she thinks that’s all that I can do

Hold on, now she’s suddenly looking at me

Like she never ever looked at me before

Now our lips kiss lips and eyes meet eyes

I think she’s found true love for evermore…
