NASCAR Bound

I will be leaving tonight for a trip to Loudon, New Hampshire for the NASCAR races this coming weekend, will be gone about five days so in case anyone wonders...woo hoo, git er done. lol as they say in the races.

NASCAR Bound

Well the traffic highways bearable

At four o’clock in the morning

Some trucker gives an air horn blast

He’s making time he’s warning

 

Nova Scotia, to New Brunswick

Cross the border into Maine

Next border is New Hampshire

For this Loudon headed train

 

New Hamphsire Motor Speedway

Where the roar is heard a mile away

New Hampshire Motor Speedway

There’s no price I wouldn’t pay

 

The chase is on and all the winners

Wait for that emerald flag to drop

Swapping paint and breathing oil

It’s the best way to the top

 

There’ll be Kyle running hard for first

Jeff Gordon’s 24 taking up the rear

Michael Waltrip’s plodding faithful 55

And Dale’s fans will all be there

 

We’ll see back-flipping Carl Edwards

Maybe get nudged in old 99

And the number 12 of Mr. Newman

Who follows that inside lower line

 

All great driver to be sure

But I have left the very best for last

The checkered flag will fly as…

the 48 of Jimmie Johnson rockets past

Be safe Fee, and enjoy the race. I never was one for car racing, because I just cannot understand why a man would put thousands of dollars into a car, knowing it will get dented and possible destroyed. Doesn't make any sense to me. But you enjoy what you like best. Thank you for sharing, but are you really sure that #48 will be the winner? LOL.

there is something about the Nascar that is just so exciting. I love to watch them and it has to be even greater to go and be right there. Great write Fee

You're visiting my state, huh? If I was healed, I might have hopped over there to say hey in person. Very close by. You have an awesome time! This is a fun poem to read. You bring the track to life. I can picture the cars zooming past! Live well and laugh lots!

Have a great time Fee. That's my home track here in New Hampshire. But after going there for the last 15 years I'm staying home and watching the replays on TV this year. My favorite? Anybody but the number 18 of Kyle's.

My cousin's grandson Nick just loves to watch those races on Sundays. He has known the car drivers #'s and all for quite a while. He is only 10 yrs. He lovee the races. Wants to go see them in future.
