Up at four and out the door

Miles and miles to go

14 hours on the open road

Anticipation starts to grow

Nova Scotia to New Brunswick

Down to Maine into the night

A sign that says New Hampshire

And my heart is getting light

I see RV’s lined up for miles

As we park ours in the row

Set up our home for three days

So excited it must show

Take a walk down to track side

Say I’ll be sitting way up high

My eyes are full of wonder

So happy all I do is sigh

Qualifying rained sadly out

But didn’t dampen spirits none

The pre-race party Saturday night

Where beads are swapped for some…

Front row seats for truck races

Bang and bruising all the way

Carrying back bags of souvenirs

Oh wow that’s quite a day

Then cloud watching Sunday morning

Silent prayers the sun will shine

Then the anthems sung and it’s begun

I love those engines roar and whine

There was Kyle Bush on the pole

Karl Edwards side by side

Number 48 quickly moved ahead of them

made my heart fill with pride

See I’m a fan of Jimmie Johnson

And he almost had that victory

Tell Greg Biffle found a little edge

And made some NASCAR history

But I won forty bucks in the race pool 

My man tied in points for first place

Drank a six pack and took lots of pictures

So all and all it was one helluva race

Now when packing up the next morning

I felt a little sad right up till we drove away

Then I smiled and said no matter what

I’ll be back again someday…

"Git er done..."
