Sorry another dark one inspired by painting I think by Van Gough...

Poem Artwork

Insanity Justified

By: Fee

Free voided in his padded room of silence

He sings his folk songs from yesterday

Where once both mind and heart connected

Now they must go there separate way

His learned doctors with their clipboards

Read their judgment charts dressed in white

As they swing their time skills on a pendulum

Along ammonia scented corridors of florescent light

Broken in his medicated state of semi reverence

Through a holy window he sits looking back

Upon the shrine of the shock treated warrior

No longer able to reason fantasy from fact

While rich teardrops on soft white bread

Soak up all that’s left of pity for pity’s sake

His vacant eyes alone Dante’s stare return

Never ending is this, his eternal wake…

You have talked for the many people that are so ill. So very sad that they suffer in their own minds.

Like Bedlum of England, there was no escaping it. Insanity must be incredibly lonely.

Makes one wonder how many poor souls are locked away and drugged for silence.
Powerful verses, Fee. I like your dark side.

It may be on the dark side but wonderful poetry none-the-less. You capture the hopelessness in the face of the man in the painting.

How beautiful yet so sad. That a great man should be reduced to this.

Fee,

Chillingly penned, you put the reader into the uncomfortable room this hapless character finds himself locked in, alone with his demons. Well done!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

So sad, mental illness is so painful to watch and stand by. I'm not even sure if there are people alive that can truly treat it. Fantastic write Fee and very touching one too. Love and hugs, Bonnie
