The beach seems to attract love and sadly also broken hearts...

Wave On Wave

By: Fee

The waves beat against the shoreline

Angry gulls scream out their protest

With hands stuck deep in my pockets

I hold my thoughts close to my breast

I wonder just where you are tonight

Remember love shared that I so crave

Lost like the sun that now says goodnight

My salted tears flow wave on wave

The sand traps the print of footsteps

That led me from here to there

The wind whips up the white caps

In my heart I wish you were here

The sand dunes block the world out

I watch the lazy saw grass misbehave

It’s like it’s laughing at my heartache

As more tears flow wave on wave

I taste the brine on the evening mist

On these lips that should be kissing you

A lady walking a dog smiles at me

I smile back though inside I’m just blue

Then I wander home to my slow death

That only your sweet love could save

Again I wonder where you are tonight

As my tears flow wave on wave…

Salty tears, unlike the tides soon run out as we move ahead with life. While you are on the beach throw out a line for another fish from the sea. Good job.

Do not be sad. Do as you feel and let the waves bring love back into your heart. I know it is difficult to lose a loved one and woder why? But there is still more to life out there for you to enjoy. The waves of he ocean content me and serenely comfort me too.

Reminds this poem a solitary tall tower where a prisoner heart of love is bleeding tears of sadness.
As usual the author gripes the heart of his readers and squeeze hard.

Oh Fee, this poem speaks many waves of longing and lost love. I felt as though I was walking along side of you feeling what you are feeling in this poem. It is so real, and that is what a good writer does, makes the reader feel their words as if they are for real.
Much peace, love, and light,
