I hope no one will be upset about this write or think I am losing my mind, it is just my mind trying to come to grips with all that has happened to me and I write what I feel...whether good or bad at the time...
Fee

In and Out of The Dark Side

‘Tis more and more often now that when I’m alone

I drift through the door and to the dark side I roam

The side where the wind always blows foul and cold

I shiver afraid and knowing that now I grow old

While in this place where there is no light nor no heat

cackling shadow disguised demons I am forced to greet

They demand restitution for all the sins of my past

Their skeletal hands reach to me…Dante’s own cast

I see thirteen looped ropes hanging like rotted fruit

To trees no longer living where the evil took root

Graveyards and defeated, old tired chapels of stone

No friends have I here I truly stand judged here alone

As the muted bells ring call the living to bury the dead

I hear familiar voices from past echo deep in my head

Aye, each time through this door I am lured to venture

It’s harder and harder to return home from it once more…

Dear Felix, As J'nia wrote, it is very healthy to write. Remember when, as a young boy you were upset and crying and your tears were flowing. You did not know how, and no one else could stop you from crying. Once some time passed you suddenly felt relief and in your heart you did not know why you ever started. It is the same now, you will realize that this poem helped you stop the flow of tears and bad thoughts. It happens only to good people to pass through this kind of experience and you know, you will emerge, higher than before and you will look to this lovely poem with pride and love. Emile

Fee i think at one time or another
we all visit that dark swap in and out
especially when we go through a chain of storms in life
But the most important thing is not to stay there
Just remember is always darkest before the light
Your in my thoughts and prayers!!
Peace Love and Light and Hugsss...Yolie

it is a form of cognitive dissonance Felix -- we look around, and so many of our friends and loved ones, are no more - we ask why them, and ponder our own fates seeking to resolve the emotions -- beyond the darkest door, resides the brightest light -- peace and love my friend -- Jon Michael --

Wow, Fee--shades of Poe! This is the side we deny exists, but our dreams reveal what we choose not to face in our waking hours. Gwendolyn is wise. Have you read "Dark Night of the Soul" by Thomas Merton? Hell of a write!

Your heart and soul, in such turmoil, but there is still plenty of living to do. God placed us all on this earth for a purpose, even though we may never understand. Think of all the lives along this journey, you have forever graced with a smile, a helping hand, a twinkle in your eyes. All the hearts that carry a piece of you with them and how it has benefited their lives. You have touched so many, seen and unseen through the years and so many still wait.....

Be always safe,
Karen

I'm so glad you wrote this poem, a well written one too which describes your pull down to the dark forces of evil. I discovered when in a deep depression, or rather when I surfaced, that the reason it is dark is so that you can't see the fact that they are on a very short leash. Monsters always seem bigger and more menacing in the dark. You can escape their pull by embracing the one who has already forgiven all of your sins. Doing this, making this decision doesn't mean you have to start doing "religious" things. It means that you are now a member of the family of God and He becomes your father rather than your judge. Something to think about. Love in Christ, J'nia

Excellent it is alright to write what you feel we have too.

"In and Our of the Dark Side" you know sometimes one has to venture it to retrieve that rough diamond or treasure. Most times good can be found in everything and everywhere sometimes our mission is to discover it.

All the best to you,
Gwendolyn

Hey there Fee, bit of a worrying write here Dahls...Listen to me mate, When Ole Nic Lures you into thought patterns like this, points 10 fingers at you and goes''HAHA..Remember this, You were bought with a Blood Sacrifice, like all of us, The keys were snatched away from the enemy..So when he Points and accuses you of your past...Remind him of his future!!
Yes I agree, all the Death you have had to face of recent times has worn you down, quite understandably...I feel for you, and pray for you too. Remember Fee..If you want, God's Grace is sufficient upon confessing your sin to him...Nothing can touch you, He's gonna face up for all the misery he caused, and then how many fingers will be pointing at him for causing such a shocking history of the world.?
Loves Yah..

Honestly, Fee, I think these feelings are natural after losing someone special in your life. I remember my dad feeling this way when my grandfather passed. We're suddenly faced with our own mortality when death calls so close to home. This poem is intense, and some lines blew me away. I especially liked the fifth couplet. Great job. Love and Hugs,
Sheila

Fee, if you weren't crazy you couldn't be a poet or be a member of The Deranged Bards Society, we from time to time go down to our dungeons looking for the truth of one thing or another, then, we surface and write one poem like the one above, to keep the sanity.

i believe its healthy for us to venture into both sides of our psyche and soul ... finding a neutral zone within our beings in not easy, it takes work and normally stretches over many lifetimes ... the intensity or depth of our undertakings, either from the light or darkness can claws away at our hearts and minds or caress them ... the true test in doing both at the same time ...

Stay in the Light my dear. He died so that you don't have to feel any remorse. When the time comes He will hold out His hand and lead you to a place of glory and Peace right by His side. We all visit that place you write about but refuse to stay there. It's the devil you feel picking at you. Kick him out of the way. Bury him in the deep sea of darkness. He's not for the likes of you but he'd love to get hold of you, if you were to let him. You are God's child. Embrace that.
Big Hug,
Marcia
