Hurricane Wild Bill
He blew in from the south
With winds to bend the big pine tree
That’s stood at least three hundred years
By the shore for all the world to see
I went to meet him as he came ashore
Down at Nova Scotia’s Lawrencetown Beach
He brought wild seas running to fifteen feet
And Mother Nature’s fury within close reach
Enough rain to flood the very arc itself
In the roar of the surf I almost heard a trumpet sound
Oh bill such rage you seem to have in you
As our coast you seem to want to pound
So there’s extra water and canned food in the pantry
Batteries, flashlights, and candles near at hand
They say we may have some power outages
So if you don’t hear from me you’ll understand
Me and Bill will have a word or two I’m sure
See who can yell the loudest
We Maritime Bluenosers’ love a good blow
A great time to take a naptime rest…

And, What a GREAT Story Sea Side Poem!
WE kept everything tight and out of reach our selves and heading down to the BEACHES! Had to see the Great Waves!
and Feel the currents and the ocean Spray!
STay Safe Always! On them there slippery Rocks! WE Fished off the Edge of the Rock Ledge and suddenly Everything we had was caught by a Big "unexpected" Wave (it just didn't look like any coming our way) and we had to tossle for our belongings, towel, tacklebox and drain the water OUT... and the bait we say Goodbye too...Another Wild Bill memory! I heard there was a death at sea, R.I.P. The little girl "who" fell off the rocks into the waves, from the current as her brother watched. She got to the hosp. but....

"The hurricane was expected to bring up to 7 inches of rain to Nova Scotia, and was expected to approach Newfoundland by Sunday night. By 11 a.m. Sunday, it was about 60 miles (95 km) east-southeast of Halifax, Nova Scotia, according to the National Hurricane Center.
More than 50 flights at Halifax airport were canceled through Sunday, and flights in and out of Moncton, New Brunswick were canceled through the afternoon. Also, a ferry service between Nova Scotia and Newfoundland was suspended for the day.
Provincial parks in Nova Scotia were shut down and people were advised to stay clear of beaches.
Power outages were reported across Nova Scotia's southern shore, and some roadways near the province's coastline were closed, the Canadian Hurricane Centre said.
Southwestern Nova Scotia could get whipped by 55 mph winds, while eastern regions of the province and Cape Breton Island of could see gusts of more than 60 mph, the Canadian Hurricane Centre said..
Late Sunday or Monday, the storm is expected to make landfall in Newfoundland, where tropical storm watches are in effect for the entire province, with the lone exception of the Northern Peninsula."
