Jimmy dominated at Dover tearing up the track

Fontana stretched his lead out over Jeff and Mark

The Kurt boys tried to give him a little worry

But he just left them at Charlotte sitting in the dark

With 183 point lead, folks said Johnson had it made

Smiled as the flag dropped to a Texas speedway roar

The 77 car came out of nowhere to put him in the wall

Before that number 48 even made it to turn four

They patched up the shattered scattered pieces

Better late than never got the car back on the track

Never giving up he rode like hell the best he could

But it looked pretty bleak and that’s a fact

At Phoenix some folks cheered and some folks jeered

When Jimmy quickly moved to the front of the pack

And roared as Superman took another checkered flag

Saying boys now there’s no more looking back

Now with just one more race they call Homestead

Then we’ll join the history pages of the NASCAR crowd

Four time consecutive national champion it will read

Jimmy, Chad and crew should be so very proud….
