I am honored to have co-written this with my friend and a poet I admire here on the den my friend Georg. The picture is of him, I had hoped to get one of him as a soldier and myself as the poet on the same place my talents are not advanced enough to do that. Anyway I hope you all enjoy this and thank you again Georg for joining with me to present...

The Warrior Loads His Gun…The Poet Dips His Pen

By: Georg Mateous and Felix L. Perry

I shall use my poet’s pen and reach out

To the integrity of hope in all mankind,

I’ll find the words that no one’s heard

open wide the eyes of the politically blind.

Talk is cheap but action is what counts,

in soldiers foxholes is rests the real truth,

warriors are born and warriors will die

defending freedom with the lives of youth.

Perhaps I shall write a hero’s novel so sincere

twill make the foulest leaders openly weep,

aye, as a poet of war and death I’ll write in blood

‘til through gun barrels peace vines slowly creep.

While you write I’ll lead the warriors charge

to vanquish tomorrow from the liars false charms,

an unending legion, marching like thunder,

on the cobblestoned road of a world in arms.

I’ll write songs of peace and harmony,

A song for a million young voices to sing aloud;

I’ll deliver them words of hope so all can cope,

soon in silent victory together we’ll stand proud.

When bullets fly and little children cry…

the hell of war is upon our homes for sure,

soldiers will stand between you and them,

your enemies, who said God can be no more.

Aye, tis the poet of meek and tender heart and the warrior tall and strong…

Lion and lamb, we must unite to end greed’s war and make right the wrong!

Bravo. This is fantastic. The two of you should submit it somewhere. This is one of the best collaborations I've read in some time. Powerful and meaningful. Love the line about the vines creeping - that's an inventive metaphor for the spreading of peace. The part about the foxholes was a punch of reality. It brings us there, and the following lines mean that much more. Again, fantastic.

Georg and Fee, you have bestowed a collaboration with weapon in hand of gun and pen, one not less powerful than the other, but one that takes a child's breath away, a message so powerful in this masterfully written poem that is oh so much more.
Love and Peace to you and all,

I will have loved to share any foxhole with this poet, so I could have understand the difference between a fought war and a peace gained, with more poets like Felix would have made soldiers unnecessary.
It was an honor to be invited, and it is an honor to be called your friend.

To two of the most brilliant poets and warriors on this den, I salute you with my pen!

Bard and Warrior,
standing as one,
placing ink upon the page
and putting down that gun,

Light armies are at hand,
rising up to gather strength
to heal the world of deadly oppression,
violence against women and children,
racism, terrorism, plagiarism, freedom,
hope, and the right of freedom of speech.

You have touched a nerve within me,
A place where the sparks of
a warrior and a poet dwell,
to aid the Universe toward
the dawn of enlightenment.

Join forces, become one,
Know that a Warrior Poet
can change the world!!!!!

Bravo, a piece well worth saving and re-reading!
Shine on,
Amber "V"

Dear Felix and Dear Georg.
As a warrior and a poet I am joining you as a brother in arms and in pen.
Life is beautiful after any battle
The only pain stays with us when we lose a friend in arms.
Let's unite the warriors and authors, in order for peace to reign
and make us really humain.
Great poem, congratulations for both of you,
your brother, who wishes to all of you
a happy new year. Love Emile
