I took down my old guitar out today

Dusted it off a little and even tuned it up

I dug out a sheet of paper and a pen

Sipped coffee from my Texas coffee cup

I found my old favorite skinny guitar pick

Gonna write a new song nobodies heard

I’ll use a simple country three chord tune

Wrapped around an old one syllable word

Now Let me think what rhymes with “love”

Of course…lets see if we can use “above”

Now I just need to find one to go with “you”

Silly me why not just use the word “true ”

Hm, what would go good in the Key of G

To match up with a word like “heart”

I strum a beat and think on it awhile

Oh yes, silly me I think I can use “part”

Another sip from my Texas coffee cup

How did I get stumped on a word like “cry”

Three letters can’t really be all that hard

Oh heavens I got it I’ll have to use “sigh”

Let’s put them together and give it a try

I’ll sing it just one time to see if it’ll fly
