As a Maritimer I love ghost stories especially ones that include love and sea shores...this picture had a story and I had to put it down...

Poem Artwork

Fee’s Ghost

He sits on a tree stump

Overlooking the shore

Idly strums his six string

Like he’s done many times before

Some say he’s a loner

Who couldn’t be broke

Some say he went crazy

Some city girl’s cruel joke

He sings a sad love song

One he wrote long ago

His misty eyed memory

That no one else could know

It was here by the lighthouse

A kiss they would share

|ntil one day she didn’t show up

Without her he’d sit there and stare

Heard she accepted her fate

One that didn’t include him

The two hearts written on sand

Were naught but a whim

Now the light it still shines

The waves still kiss the sand

He came here day after day

To remember holding her hand

But he fades into the fog

If anyone should come near

and just a strain of his song

If you'll listen closely you'll hear

You see he walked into the ocean

And the town buried him here…

"THIS PICTURE HAD A STORY" and you "PUT IT DOWN" absolutely perfectly, Fee. Love everything about this one. Well done, indeed.

How sad and sweet at the same time. (I can almost see myself in this sort of scene - sitting , with my guitar, near one of my favorite lighthouses. I've done it many times.) And the fading into the ocean part is a good ending.

We can't let lost love kill us, though we do all the time & I guess we deal with it anyway we can...you put alot of thought into this one, I think...e

How eerily and mistily beautiful!...I can see the lighthouse flashing its warning light, and can taste the salt spray..I think I can also hear the sad strains of a distant guitar...Hugs, Diana...

there is something about the sea that conjures up stories of ghosts, and lost love... perhaps this one will meet the woman in the long flowing white gown that paces up and down the shore and they will fall in love, forgetting their loves in life... it's just a dream.
smiles, kathy
