Ode to Originality
Oh the woe of trying to be original
it’s rather like being a dirigible
floating aimlessly amongst clichéd clouds
masking meaning in syntactic shrouds.
Blown by winds of simile and synecdoche
like the metaphor of the masculine urge
these English thoughts to purge.
Hyperbole and rhetorical devices as one may need
If penned correctly, help set forth the didactic seed
spawning on a cosmic breeze
and settling the universe with unaffected ease
if only one could be original and not a dirigible.
