The Thrill of it All
Riding on a motorcycle can be calming to one’s inner soul
The wind is accelerated as the motorcycle crawls faster
Sound becomes a humming white noise deadening one’s fears
Bugs become a part of you; just don’t open your mouth!
With the monotonous droning of the engine, you begin to drift
A world blurs past as your senses are awakened by all that surrounds you
Sitting barely just high enough off the ground, you are as a bird of prey
The thrill of flying through the air, gliding around curves in the road
The hot dry air suddenly begins to cool as the skies begin to cry
The rain drops softly at first then extensions of icy fingers slice at you
Having the proper apparel does prevent pain and agony
But if you just wore a little rag on your head…oh well!
Modern highways turn into old dirt roads
Splatters of water now turn into sprays of mud
If you are the one driving the bike, you will become unrecognizable
While the back seat passenger is wise, remains dry by being properly dressed.
