I pray each of you will have a blessed St Patty's Day. The picture was copied from a Hallmark greeting card...This is a wee bit of my family geneaology. There is alot of historical information about some of them . Perhaps I'll write about some of it.....
My grandmother was Mary Ellen Murphy.
She was born in 1872 near Dublin, Ireland, and the oldest of 12 . My grt grandfather, Thomas Murphy was a miller and very poor. Eventually some of the family came to the United States and settled in Holyoke Mass. Soon the whole family was able to join them. My grandmother met my grandfather, Merton Schoolcraft, while walikng in the park. She was a pretty lass and when she saw him , she winked and that was the beginning of their court ship. They eventually married and had three daughters and a son, Cecil who was my dad.
The Schoolcrafts, Schoolcrofts ) are of English decent . I have my familys history back to the 1600s along with some good information about some of my ancestors. Henry Roe Schoolcraft was a distant cousin and a famous writer. There is a college named after him ....
How sweet of you to share a lifetime experience. My first husband and my children all have a wee bit of Irish blood and so to this day celebrate we do. Happy St. Patrick's Day to all.....
