Getting started with a new book is hard - at least for me. Once I get going, the bit's between my teeth and I'm at full gallop. feeling the rush. But before I'm at that point, I seem always to need the following poetic conversation with myself. Just as I had it today.
Procrastination I’ve got a general plot Leading to a final scene, Main characters loitering, Minor ones in the bushes. But I can’t start today. More definition is needed: Vivid scenes I’ve imagined May not fit exactly. Where’s the snappy title? How can I be sure Anything will work? Never mind that I’ve Been through this before And had a book in the end. That’s no sure confirmation. There’s only tomorrow and tomorrow. Shakespeare said that, So it must be good advice. *Tomorrow I will* write - Though it still is wise To keep a back door open. For real emergency, of course. A good poetic write about a common problem with most writers. Writing at least one page a day. That keeps the procrastination blues away. Amen!

Your words ring true. I've been putting off a short story trying to think of what I'll write. And a novel I started two years ago is still sitting there, waiting time and imagination.
