The parlor is filled with books.
New Age, Old Age, and Prehistoric Age.
Age being the key theme, or more to the point,
the passing from sprout to timber.

Somewhere along this timeline came a progression.
A literary account of success and failure,
measured  by self-awareness or lack there of.

He picked up his unpublished novella and began reading.
The pages flying by with licked fingers,
as the mind tries to comprehend.

    Chapter 10: Was It Illusion
This random occurrence cemented into a foundation of being,
that was or was not suppose to happen.
So many contradictions coincided with fact.
The answer of course was No.
There was reality in this so-called illusion.
Illusions fade in time.
Reality is a constant.
Or maybe it was a little of both.
Either way he knew understanding would always elude him.

    Chapter 11: Disconnected Connection
As he read on he thought of an old Star Trek episode.
Where bond mates separated by circumstance recited a Vulcan ritual.
The words were spoken with no emotion, just sort of a factual statement
One line in particular stood out “Apart but never Parted”.
He would have to ponder this.

     Chapter 12: One Slice Won’t Do
In the Pie of emotions it is usually possible to isolated a particular emotion,
and suppress it an any give time.
Anger or sadness for example can be eliminated with the correct thought process.
Lost love can be diminished through time and lack of reinforcement.
At least this has been his experience until this time

He thought back to the Vulcans a race that has suppressed all emotions.
It is who he is now
It was the only way to survive because this time the love was so strong
He needed to vanquish the whole pie.
else the whole house of cards would crumble.

So now he is fully Vulcan as witnessed in his writing of late.
The words can be read and understood but not felt.

The only time the this law is broken,
Is when he thinks of His BBE
