Remembering...Life's past

Poem Artwork

I Remember

I remember years past

All the good things you wished would last

Like jobs, cars and everlast

I remember talking to my mom,

She told me the only question you

Don’t ask is the one that’s dumb

I remember working a fine job

But beware, where’s the mob

I remember flying so high

Peeping out the window and seeing the sky

I remember my best friend

Thinking the friendship would never end

I remember meeting my wife

A talented girl, so very nice

I remember saying I do

To take this girl forever with you

I remember the birth of my son

13 years later he’s still the one

I remember being in a war

All it left me was a scar

I remember the spices of life

Today my best friend is my wife

That goes to show you without despair

To be really happy, it’s a family affair

The moral of this poem; what I’m trying to say

Life memories will always stay

I hope for you it’s a pleasant one

Memories that last forever;

The ones that’s always fun

Bless you... and so, so right. All we ultimately have are our memories, and only WE can frame them and print them on our hearts and minds in the way that will be most treasured and honoured and bring us the most peaceful harmony, resolution or joy. These thoughts you pen here a pure treasure and a richness of which we can't ultimately be robbed. Reality is a question of vision, perception and interpretation, after all. May your own memories continue to make of your lives the treasure store it surely is. Bless you and thank you. Kate xx

Ah, we all wish for that, but over the years some have fallen into the potholes of despair and have not been as upfront and nice as we could, or should have been. When these memories intermingle with the good ones is what can case angst of the most horrid sort. Lovely poem. Yes.

Without family, friends and memories, we would certainly be a lost generation. Lost in sadness.

So much truth in what you say here and it is unfortunate that we often do not come to this realization of family and life until it is far too late.

Our lives are made up of fragmented memories and dreams, that are stored away forever in our subconcious Roger
The litmus test is how we use the power and capacity of those memories to create our present day reality...
I love the gizmo in the picture, they are great places to rest and relax out of the burning Californian sun !
