The first line is great as there are lots of uninformed minds out there ready to make judgements- and that last line is great, exactly what all us cacti of the world need to get by in the day-to-day dealings with those uninformed people. The title also made this very real with a desert sky in one's mind.
Ah yes, the subliminal anticipation of setting off in life with your own solitary zipped sleeping bag, in the knowledge that it might become two...!! Like the element of excitement and danger that you flirt with here, Sage; do Goddesses perform because they WANT to, or because they have a shockable audience, and it is just SUCH fun to wind people up?! :)) Whatever, you certainly can't do either unless you are prepared to take the consequences and are strong enough to cope... if you gotta go counter-culture in order to exercise personal sovereignty, then that path certainly ain't for the meek and fainthearted among us - as your picture of the cacti might suggest. Your "rats" line makes me think not only of a censorious audience, but also of a premeditatedly malevolent one.... But don't mind me... I am a few teeth short of a fully-fastening YKK these days... :)) Gotta love it! K xx
