Why Pray?

This is a shorter version of my last poem "Why I pray."
Personally, I pray because I love my relationship with Our Father in Heaven.

Pray because God will provide just like He has done so many times before.

 

Pray because The Lord will provide peace, guidance, direction and so much more.

 

Pray because prayer works better than anything, for the Lord can heal with just one touch.

 

Pray because our God is an awesome God and He loves you so very much!

When one chooses not to pray the world they live in might seem dark, but when praying, the world is full of sunshine and hope that their prayers are heard; that is where faith comes in. The narrow path of a Christian is not always easy, but well worth the effort it takes.

Recently I read this quote in my Christian thoughts for the day book: "If you have a special need today, focus your full attention on the goodness and greatness of God rather than on the size of your need. Your need is so small compared to His ability to meet it."

John: I love the picture! Prayer is very important and I've witnessed first hand that our Lord does answer prayers. Thank you for sharing and reminding us of the importance of prayer in this otherwise hectic world.

Prayer is very personal, and therefore, selfish. Prayer is used to assuage fear and externalize it--place in in other hands (like a god or a god's will). Prayer is not just a Christian right, other religions pray, too.

In the course of things, prayer is quack medicine. What will be, will be, and praying will do nothing to change it.
