Walter Cronkite was the most loved news reporter back in the day. I miss him so much. He could wrap the news up and at the end, he could, "MAKE YOUR DAY!"
Yes, Walter had a way of looking you straight in the eye and reading the news the way it was without embellishment or judgment. And then, there were times, during great duress or tragedy when he would take off those glasses, look us straight in the eye with tear in his eye, and show us that he was as human as we.
I also miss the booming voice of talk radio host Paul Harvey. He always had in his back pocket a human interest story that he would tell us every time he was on the air. "And that, my friends, is the rest of the story."
