This is a true story about two friends who are now a memory because they wanted a better deal in a sale from yours truly.

It hurt me that some friends were not what I had thought.
They wanted my help to make a better sale, but I was indeed bought.
I was naive and could not see through red, white, and green.
How could they be so thoughtless, heartless, and downright mean?
Even though they were not as I first visualized them in the end.
I miss the person I thought they were, so in my heart, they will remain my friends.

I'm not sure exactly how this went down. But I believe it is better than some of the political riffs that I'm seeing between friends and family. You might go boating with Roger again.
I recall during the mortgage debacle around 2008, my brother was in a divorce with his second wife for reasons I'm not fully aware of. They had their house for sale for some time. He was willing to take a small loss and sell the house, but she wasn't. In the end, the house was foreclosed and he was left holding the bag.
Ouch,that must have hurt.Greed is hard to write about but this poem does it well.To many people these days will put their possessions before their friends.I am sorry you experienced that.
