In the name of those that grew up being love-orphans...
In the name of those that became feelings destitutes...
In the name of those that pain and tears were the wine and bread of a miserable long mass...

Poem Artwork

Mother dearest...

...you have no heart,
you never had.
The look in your face I remember
never hold a smile,
you were the angry woman,
always there,
the one that suddenly,
without any warning,
could deliver so much pain
for whatever reasons
to a defenseless child.
I did never loved,
but feared,
the proximity of your hands.

...nobody should curse
the mountain's peak
impossible to conquer,
they are hard
and full of secrets,
cold and quiet;
perhaps, mother
you weren't a good enough
a climber, to conquer
the son that became a man.
You were the angry woman
supposed to be a mother,
but you had no heart,
you never had.

Sad but it is good to get these feelings out I think. It is true that some women should never have children. Love and peace to you,

So very sad and bitter! Sometimes the mother we wish for is not the reality, is it?

Be safe,
Karen

Georg,

(((Hon))), there is pain between each line; reads like fiction, but is based on reality, isn't it? It seems so...very powerful, shattering write of sadness and yes, even anger. Very strongly penned.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

I was fortunate, my Mom was wonderful. She passed 17 years ago, I miss her, still. :( 59 years old......too young!!!!!

Such a sad thing to have a mom, and not be able to feel love from her. I was blessed, my mother was one of my best friends...we worked side by side when I was in high school, she worked her second job, I my first job in the evenings after school...we worked a fast food chicken joint, we also actually went on a double date together, father and son...but my dad, well that was a different kind of person, thankfully my mom had enough grit and determination to divorce him and move on, best thing ever happened to her or me, my sister, and brother! Sadly there are many who do endure such as you've written about, sad to say that as a teacher i see far too much of this from the child's point of view! Poignant write my friend.
Blessings,

compassion to you Georg...Forgive me as I am assuming this is factual....sometimes when we can't find the forgiveness within us to give to them, we can forgive ourselves...
these dark beings are filled with pain and fear that is often not shared and in their suffering they lash out like a wounded animal..it was nearly 20 yrs after my own mother passed on that I learned her true story, I believe if I'd known I would not have hated her or blamed myself for her lack of motherly love...ok reading this was therapy for me *smiles* a sad tale, far too many have known and you've written it well.

This is bold of you to share. You certainly wear your heart on your sleeve. Soceity tends to view mothers more favourably than fathers yet in reality both are equally culpable of failing in parenthood. I never particularly got on well with my mother, she was emotionally distant. On the other hand my father swung from one extreme to the other yet on the whole was a better parent. Sad thing is, I never thanked him for being the excellent provider that he was. He probably would not have expected thanks, seeing his role as his duty, yet I wished I could have thanked him nonetheless.

A brave word of introspection.

I can still picture the day as a teen I turned to my mother who was being her usually unyeilding, self righteous woman, "have a heart" to which she said "I do" and not willing to let it go I said "why don't you use it". Not met with a grace. Her anger which she came after me with, I can now say must have hit a nerve.

I can say I love her as a child who has a mother, yet I have no respect for her, don't trust her, and frankly don't like most of the things she has done in her life. Sad to some who hear me say that but it is the truth. Well, written George and well felt. Lady J

Influence that will last a lifetime is the special powers a parent can either use or misuse. Inflicting pain physical or emotional on the helpless is wrong on any level. a worthy cry - HB

As others have said; sad, painful yet powerful images. Georg, this reminds me of the writing of Rilke. Very good!

Wow I'm speechless so much
Pain and sadness and the page is
Full of emotions Your words captured
a cold hearted mother
I'm hoping and praying that my kids
felt my love ... and not unloved because
They where and still are my life!!
I'm praying that no kids go through
This kind of emotional pain
Reminded me of the movie mommy dearest
You did an excellent job George
Love And Peace to You Always

Such a sad painful offering...I am looking at myself in the mirror wondering if my children feel unloved when my heart is screaming with pain inside and the smile upon my face the reflection of my agony deep within!!

God forgive me if they felt like you at any time in their lives!!

Tears!!

Love and "motherly" hugs to you!!

Said in full poemization of emotion... "Mother Dearest..." makes one think about raising family, and most of all - educating children.

I have enjoyed the reading of "Mother Dearest...".
