As the dumb criminals are chasing shadows in Canada, the three brothers went across the Rio Grande to Mexico because Jersey Ed couldn't keep his finger from the trigger.

Poem Artwork

We were on Tucson whereabouts when
when Jersey Ed insisted going to Boots Hill
and look at all the new tombs of gunslingers
that were no draw fast enough and got kill.

The cemetery had quite a row of names
but the eerie place wasn’t all too big,
bored, Jersey Ed was fiddling with his rifle,
a shot went out, got troubles because of him.

The shot could had went anywhere but there,
missing just the Terrible Texas Twins,
but Jersey bulled wasn’t finished with that,
it grazed D’Artagnan’s rear end going twiiiing!

You don’t shot an ex-cop just for nothing,
in no time he got a mean deputy’s possee
holding a generous length of hemp ropes,
“with very bad intentions” said PeeWee .

That posse was made of many crazy people,
they screamed and holler like horny banshees,
aiming to get to the honest gentle brothers
and hang them from the whereabouts only tree.

Their horses weren’t horses, just pitiful nags,
that couldn’t catch up even with crawling Fee,
a Canuck that one day rated us to the Mounties
and that the Brothers Ed a visit will inflict.

PeeWee, “Mammy’s Little Soldier” complained
that his uniform will get wrinkled at the seams
and that they should take away Jersey Ed’s rifle
because next time maybe so lucky they wouldn’t be.

Next day was the time to wade thru Rio Grande
into Mexico to escape the chasing dumb vermin,
and get the neck at safe distance from the ropes,
with tequila y senoritas, and please, no conflict?

EDITORS NOTE.
The Brothers Ed were also confronted by:

“Terrible Texas Twins” or “T’s” J
Ex cop disguised as “D’Artagnan”
Carole “Praying-Mathys”
Jude the “Perilous Bard”
Hightower “Shoot-too-soon”

Love the Eds. Gave me a laugh. I've been to Tucson (Tombstone) to where they reenacted the O.K. Corral and Boot Hill is located. I imagine a lot of folks could be like the ones you describe. I love the last verse.

Hmmm, Jersey Devil sure looks like he could be a "BIlly the Kid" look a like. An adventure to be grateful to have not to have had your hide skinned. Fascinating tale, keeping the interest...

Be always safe,
Karen

This was very creative, and I like poems that tell stories. I don't know how you can come up with stories so fast and write them so well.

AMAZING indeed!!!

If there's nothin I hate more than a wrinkled uniform, I can't think of it. And Jersey carryin any weapon is truly frightening.

PS He says Ma needs new Combat Boots again, and he don't wanna pay - isn't it his turn?

See you in the Cantina, down Mexico Way.
